Help The Persecuted Launches Urgent Appeal to Respond to All Out War in Lebanon

MIDDLE EAST — As the war in the Middle East continues to escalate, Christian ministry Help The Persecuted is launching an urgent appeal to enable their team on the ground in Lebanon to provide safe shelter, urgent food supplies and pastoral support to some of the one million displaced people who have fled the fighting in Southern Lebanon.

In a matter of days Help The Persecuted’s existing War Refuge Center and every one of their Safe Houses in Lebanon will be full. They are feeding people with fresh food from their large farm and will be distributing ready-to-go Emergency Relief Kits – all while ministering to people through their Pastoral Care Team.

Bordering Israel and Syria, Lebanon has long been a hub for Help The Persecuted because the country is a refuge for large numbers of persecuted Christians who have fled countries like Iran, Yemen, and Syria and other places where murdering converts to Christianity is legal…and often praised.

“We already have a well-established Crisis Response in Lebanon that has served over 60,000 people—largely persecuted Christians and vulnerable populations—over the past two years. Now, our Field Ministers are ready to serve on an unprecedented scale,” explains Help The Persecuted CEO Joshua Youssef.

He added: “We are maximizing all our current resources and looking for opportunities to do even more, from expanding our refuge shelters and Safe Houses to provide safe refuge for more people, and we’re seizing this opportunity to present Christ to people looking for hope in the midst of a warzone.

“That’s why we’re launching our Rapid Response: War in Lebanon appeal with the goal of raising at least £1 million, which will enable the existing ministry in Lebanon to continue and expand.

“One million people are fleeing the war, and the need is vast, and it is urgent. Our team on the ground stands ready to do more, Rescuing, Restoring, and Rebuilding more lives at this pivotal moment.”
