FT MYERS, FL — Samaritan’s Purse Disaster Relief Units—tractor trailers stocked with equipment and supplies—headed to Florida on Sept. 29 from North Carolina. They arrived Sept. 30, and their bases of operation are now established at Citygate Ministries in Fort Myers and Calvary Baptist Church in Englewood. A third base will be established at New Life Church in Punta Gorda as truck and resources arrive.
Volunteers are now needed to help in Jesus’ Name, coming alongside hurting homeowners as they clean up in the aftermath of Hurricane Ian.
Chandler Saylors, Samaritan’s Purse:
Hurricane Ian made landfall as a Category 4, devastating the coast of western Florida– demolishing homes, destroying many boats, causing flooding in the streets.
Samaritan’s Purse is on the ground. Our volunteers will be tarping roofs, cutting trees, gutting out homes, and helping them as they move forward in the process of securing their houses.
Samaritan’s Purse has all the tools and supplies ready to assist this community, but we need volunteers. We need willing hands and hearts to put those tools to good use. So please consider coming out to serve and to help these people in the wake of their storm.
If you will, consider and pray about supporting and volunteering in the aftermath of Hurricane Ian. You can read more about what Samaritan’s Purse is doing here in western Florida at samaritanspurse.org. Thank you and God bless you.
