Praising God for a New Home in Texas

LA GRANGE, TX — A La Grange, Texas, couple are praising God for their new home built by Samaritan’s Purse after their previous house was destroyed by floodwaters from Hurricane Harvey.

Justin Riddle, Samaritan’s Purse:

Hurricane Harvey came through, dumped tons of water. It breached its banks, and ruined a lot of homes and lives.

Armanda & Santos Merlos, Homeowners:

Woke up the next day to find out that our house was, in fact, like, underwater.

It’s pretty hard waking up to [that].

Justin Riddle:

Samaritan’s Purse has chosen, here in La Grange, to relocate 20 families, to move them to new places out of the flood plain and safe. So handing over a key to this home for Santos and Armanda, man, it’s really special. It’s a blessing for us to get to do that.

Pray and hope that this house is continually a blessing, and continually a reminder. Every time they step through that front door, they can remember His goodness.
