PUMAS COUNTY, CA — As they pressure washed fire retardant off houses in Northern California after the Dixie fire, God used Samaritan’s Purse volunteers to lead three people to salvation in Christ. The teams are now preparing to soon sift through ashes of burnt houses to help recover cherished items for hurting homeowners.
Leroy Wentz, Samaritan’s Purse:
I’m Leroy Wentz. I’m a Program Manager with Samaritan’s Purse. We’re in Plumas County, California, where we’ve arrived a week ago to begin setting up our site, and helping those impacted by the huge Dixie fire, which is still burning after over 40 days of activity here. In the meantime, while we wait for the clearance to go in and work on those sites, God’s opened up an amazing door in ministry here in Chester.
You can see our volunteers behind me. They’re power-washing fire retardant off the houses, and this has opened up an amazing ministry opportunity for us. In the past week, while we’ve done this work here, three people have given their hearts and lives to Jesus Christ. We just want to come alongside them with the hope and love of Jesus Christ and His Gospel, and be the hands and feet of Christ.
We ask for your prayers as we go about this work, that God will open the doors and our volunteers will find those opportunities to touch hearts and lives in the Name of Jesus Christ.
