PLANO, TX — Prestonwood Baptist Church, Christian Thinkers Society and Prestonwood Christian Academy will host “Anchored,” a 2-day conference hosted by the school’s Biblical Worldview Institute (BWi), Nov. 1 and 2.
Hosted at the church’s Plano Campus, BWi Anchored features world-class speakers including Dr. Sean McDowell, Alisa Childers, Dr. Scott Stripling, Dr. Craig Evans, Dr. Randy Guliuzza, Allen Parr and Dr. Jeremiah J. Johnston. Students from dozens of other Christian schools, homeschool students and adults from all backgrounds will come together for plenary sessions Tuesday and Wednesday morning and in-depth and interactive breakout sessions Tuesday afternoon.
“There has never been a more critical time to instill a Christ-centered worldview in today’s youth. The list continues to grow of individuals who have ‘deconstructed’ their faith and walked away from Christianity,” said PCA Dean of Spiritual Development Dr. Jeremiah J. Johnston.
“Reasons for disillusionment and abandonment run the gamut – some were never given reasonable answers to their pervasive questions, others never heard scientific evidence that contradicted their faith, still others can’t align the sexual morals of their faith tradition with the expanding sexual freedoms found in the culture today. Seekers, skeptics and Christians are all invited to address each of these objections at BWi.”
Under the direction of Worldview Director Dan Panetti, PCA has produced its annual BWi conference for students, educators and parents since 2005. This conference is designed to challenge mainstream culture with intentional thought-provoking speakers and topics.
“It’s appropriate that the theme for this year’s conference is Hebrews 6:19, which tells us, ‘We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul,’” said Dr. Jack Graham, Senior Pastor of Prestonwood. “It is saddening to see a growing number of young people in America walking away from their faith. BWi will equip students, educators and parents to navigate crucial cultural conversations and anchor them in their faith.”
