FOREST, VA —Christian humanitarian organization World Help is seeking volunteers to prepare tons of life-saving supplies — worth $5 million in humanitarian aid — for shipment overseas by the end of June.
This summer, World Help will prepare for distribution the largest influx of donations the organization has received to date. Over 75,000 hygiene kits, stretchers, exam tables, clothing items and other supplies are waiting to be sent overseas — and volunteers can help get these essentials to people in need.
“World Help started this year stronger than ever before. Thanks to grants and generous corporate donors, we have tons of life-saving supplies in our warehouse so we can meet the needs of people in impoverished communities,” Vernon Brewer, founder and CEO of World Help said.
“We have the supplies, and we know where they need to go — all we need is help to get them there. Before these items can be shipped, they first need to be sorted, counted, and packaged. And it all needs to be done by June 30. If you have ever wanted to get your hands on a tangible way to help alleviate poverty, this is an opportunity to do just that, right where you live.”
World Help operates out of corporate offices in Forest, Virginia, but its humanitarian programs impact millions of people worldwide every year.
From its warehouse in Central Virginia, where donations are sorted and prepared for distribution, World Help ships millions of dollars’ worth of supplies to impoverished communities each year. Over the past few months, the organization has provided food for people in Nicaragua and Zambia, medical equipment for medical facilities in Uganda and Rwanda and hygiene kits for cyclone survivors in Zimbabwe, to name a few.
