As Mexico Border Crisis Continues More Than 16,000 Hear the Gospel at Veracruz Event

MEXICO — Atlanta pastor and international evangelist Michael Youssef traveled to Veracruz, Mexico last month, bringing a message of hope and encouragement to record crowds. Drawing 16,480 people, the Come & See Veracruz Weekend Celebration was the largest Christian event in the region in over 20 years.

Dr. Michael Youssef:

God is saying to you tonight, I’ll give you a new heart.

As Mexico’s border crisis continues, record crowds of more than 16,000 flock to hear international evangelist Michael Youssef bring a message of hope and encouragement in the east of the country in Vera Cruz last month.

Dr. Youssef, founder of the ministry leading the way, said, “We go where we’re called by God and after seeing so much upheaval at the U.S.-Mexico border, we felt that the good news of Jesus was desperately needed in Mexico.”

The Come and See Vera Cruz weekend celebration was the largest Christian event in the region in over 20 years. It was a message that struck home for many, as more than 1,400 responded to the invitation to put their faith in Jesus Christ, including more than 700 children.

Dr. Youssef:

I’m going to pray for you right now.

Oh, Heavenly Father. You’re the one who sent your son Jesus to die for us.

And this event was part of leading the way’s Vision 2025 strategy that includes seeing a million souls won for Christ by next year.

  1. Praising in the Name of Jesus, that the Gospel message is birthed and disciples receive awakening and new and older generations seek Jesus and bring their experiences of Jesus everywhere! May the Damascus experience of Saul be personally known in great numbers of those seeking truth! Amen!!!
