WINCHESTER/SELMA, IN — Samaritan’s Purse volunteers are helping homeowners in Logan County, Ohio, and the Selma/Winchester area of Indiana, recover from damage caused by devastating tornadoes that swept through the region. But more volunteers are urgently needed.
Todd Taylor – Samaritan’s Purse:
We’re here in Selma, Indiana, as well as Winchester, Indiana, where Thursday night a powerful EF3 tornado came through this area, just doing catastrophic damage. These are small rural farming communities and really caught the community off guard. We have another site over in Ohio where they’re doing the same work for the folks around that Lakeview area where it was so hard hit by another EF3 tornado.
Gary Gerwig – Volunteer:
There’s trees on houses, there’s trees laying on the yard, people can’t get in their houses for the trees and the driveways are blocked.
Jaime Keoshian – Samaritan’s Purse:
We just ask for your prayer support for the homeowners as well as Samaritan’s Purse volunteers as they’re in the community working.
Gary:
It’s cold today and a lot of these people don’t have anywhere to go and they need to stay in their houses so the sooner we can get the roofs tarp and everything where they can move back in them, the sooner the better we can do that.
Todd:
Winter has returned here to east central Indiana. We really need your help as quickly as possible so go to the website find out how you can be involved.
