HIV Ministry Offers Hope of Jesus in Uganda and Beyond

UGANDA — He Intends Victory circles the globe with the hope that only Jesus Christ offers, providing information, counseling, support, and care to the HIV/AIDS community. GNA reporter Peter Wooding spoke to their founder Bruce Sonnenberg about their most recent mission trip to Uganda.

For more than 25 years Christian charity He Intends Victory has been sending mission teams from America to serve people living with HIV/AIDS across Africa.

During their most recent outreach to Uganda they provided medical support, practical items and spiritual input to many families impacted by the virus.

He Intends Victory Founder Bruce Sonnenberg explains more about the impact of these missions:

They have this sense that this was so wonderful. These people have blessed me with the things that Jesus talked about. I was hungry and you fed me, I was naked and you clothed me. I was in jail and you visited me. And those are the types of things we do to demonstrate that Jesus loves them, that there is hope in Jesus Christ.

And these trips are a part of their ongoing work around the world which include AIDS education, orphan care, support groups and food programs. Sonnenberg says it’s important people realize this pandemic hasn’t gone away:

There are still 38 million people in the world living with HIV and about 1.5 million people being newly infected every year. So it’s a major pandemic around the world, especially in poorer countries. And so we serve people with HIV in 16 countries and we’re blessed to be able to provide care and love and the hope of Jesus Christ to them.

And the He Intends Victory team is currently preparing for their next mission trip to Kenya and Tanzania in October 2022.
