ISRAEL — During a special ceremony in January in Jerusalem, Franklin Graham met with Israeli leaders and with families of the fallen to dedicate 14 new ambulances provided by Samaritan’s Purse for the use of Magen David Adom, Israel’s national emergency medical services provider. Each vehicle was inscribed with an excerpt from Scripture and with the name of a Magen David Adom team member killed on or since the terror attacks of Oct. 7.

Samaritan’s Purse has also pledged to provide eight additional armor-plated ambulances to Magen David Adom.

As these ambulances are now in use and rush toward danger, the charity is urging prayer for those impacted by this ongoing conflict.

Uri Shacham – Chief of Staff, Magen David Adom:

During a weekend, hundreds if not thousands of terrorists came into those communities. And the terrorists invaded. They went for the ambulances. They wanted to destroy them so Magen David Adom people won’t be able to protect the lives of the injured. It created the need of replacing those ambulances immediately.

Ken Isaacs – Vice President of Program & Government Relations, Samaritan’s Purse:

Because Magen David Adom is the national emergency responder, I went to meet the leadership and I remember the phone call with Franklin Graham when I told him what the need was and he said we can replace those ambulances, tell them that we’ll commit to all of them, so that’s what we did.

Uri:

We received a call, Samaritan’s Purse is going to replace the entire 14 ambulances that you lost. For me it was, what? Like, wow, what a gift of life, not only for Magen David Adom, but for the people of Israel.

Ken:

And then later we saw at a Magen David Adom ambulance station, they had a very old armored ambulance. And Franklin was here and he just announced in front of everybody,

So those seven ambulances are being built in Poland, and the 14 that were bought from Albania are here now in Israel.

Shachar Hezkelevich – Senior Paramedic, Magen David Adom:

For all of us, paramedics and EMTs, it’s a huge difference. It’s much more safe to the patient and to the crew if something bad happen, like a car accident, and it’s much more ergonomic. With these vehicles, we can treat every patient from cardiac arrest, chest pain, anything that terrorist attack, gunshot wounded. We have everything that can save lives of the critical patient that we are dealing with.

I want to thank Samaritan Purse and all of its supporters for being there with us at one of our darkest times. I cannot stress enough how impactful this involvement of Samaritan Purse is, but I know that forever it will remain in my heart, till the last day of my life.
