New Technology Enables Greater Outreach to Persian Communities

IRAN — A new technology, cutting-edge virtual camera system, installed at SAT-7 PARS’ Limassol studio in Cyprus is taking multiple Persian programs to new heights. It enables presenters and actors to move about in, and even interact with, a digitally-designed virtual environment that is bringing stories to life. And it will enable the broadcast ministry to reach more isolated persecuted Iranian and Afghan Christians.

Christian media ministry SAT-7 is utilising cutting edge technology to help reach and support isolated Christians facing persecution in Iran and Afghanistan. Developed by Red Spy it uses virtual reality to create sets that SAT-7’s presenters can interact with even in different places as well as between their channels. The ministry’s UK director is Rachel Fadipe.

Rachel FadipeSAT-7’s Director:

“For the Iranian and the Persian community around the world, they’re really spread out. They’re often isolated. So that enables us to really support the church in Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan in a completely deeper way.”

As well as using this technology to stand with isolated Christians, Rachel says they also want to reach those who don’t yet know Christ.

Rachel:

“Our hope really is that those people who have the questions can find the answers to them. We get a lot of contacts from people of all faiths who start to understand Christianity in a way they never did before through watching SAT-7.”
