Update: Samaritan’s Purse Children’s Heart Project

Bringing Healing To Mothers and Children from Mongolia

USA — Samaritan’s Purse Children’s Heart Project provided physical and spiritual healing in the name of Jesus for nine children and their mothers from Mongolia They came to North America for the children to undergo successful congenital heart surgery. Several of the mothers invited Jesus Christ into their lives.

Today, we have nine children here that are going to be returning home to Mongolia after having open heart surgery in various places in the United States and in Grand Cayman. All of these children would have not survived until adulthood without having congenital heart surgery. It’s not available in their own country.

Before the surgery, my son was very weak, and he had problems eating. He never was able to play like he wanted. The surgery gave my son life. Now my son eats well, and he can play as much as he wants. I’m so happy that he doesn’t get tired now. He can play for many hours.

I made a decision to invite Christ in my life. I really felt God’s love through every member of the host family, and when I read The Greatest Journey, I really learned more about God. These things helped me make the decision to receive Christ.

All of these kids have had successful surgery. They’re all healthy and ready to return home. They’ve just been delayed because of the pandemic. The positive in this long stay has been that they’ve been able to hear more about Jesus Christ, understand more about who He is, and understand more of the Word of God. It’s been a positive thing in the midst of what has been a very difficult time.

It’s been absolutely amazing to be a part of this project, not only to see physical hearts changed, but also to see spiritual hearts changed. And we are excited that they are going to be able to return home and see their families and resume their lives in Mongolia.

Thank you so much for your prayers for these children. We ask you to keep praying for them as they return home. Pray that they will have a long and healthy life, and that many in their families and their communities will see this and say, “Look what the Lord has done.”

Since 1970, Samaritan’s Purse has helped meet needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing God’s love through His Son, Jesus Christ. The organization serves the Church worldwide to promote the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

About Samaritan’s Purse Children’s Heart Project

The Samaritan’s Purse Children’s Heart Project brings lifesaving cardiac surgery to boys and girls living in countries that do not have the medical facilities or the expertise to perform such complex procedures. They transport the child along with a parent or guardian to North America—where they stay with a Christian host family—and then undergo an operation donated by a local hospital. The teams share the Good News of the Gospel with these children and their family members, and many have come to faith in Jesus Christ. In total, more than 1,300 children from 16 different countries have received heart surgeries through the project since its start in 1997.
