TURKEY — Samaritan’s Purse is installing hygiene containers in Turkey, each complete with three showers, three toilets, and sinks. These facilities will be maintained for up to a year through their partnerships in Turkey.
Reg Smallwood – Samaritan’s Purse:
I’m here with Samaritan’s Purse in Antakya, Turkey, formerly called Antioch. What I’ve noticed around here is the lack of toilets. Many of these people have been weeks without a shower or running toilets. They need that desperately. If they don’t get it, there’s going to be pollution. It’s going to be disease. So we’ve brought these containers here. We just dropped them off.
As you saw, we’re just unloading them. There’s four already been hooked up and running now, and we have approximately 100 more to go. I’ve had people say, “I don’t understand why you go over to do that.”
And I have the opportunity to tell them, this is what I’m doing, this is why I’m doing it. I’m telling them it’s because of God’s love for me, and he’s asked me to do that. We’re commanded to love our neighbors.
