LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Dream Center is pleased to announce they will be partnering with Jesus Daily in a Facebook live event produced by Dream On Productions to raise funds that will provide meals for families affected by COVID-19. Since the outbreak of the pandemic, the Dream Center has opened its doors seven days a week, 11 hours a day to help families and at-risk seniors affected by the virus and the stay-at-home order. They have now served 500,000 meals since March 15 when their outreach began.
This event premiered live on Facebook, Monday, May 4 at 4 PM PST / 7 PM EST and was hosted by Dream Center co-founder Matthew Barnett and actress and television personality Sherri Shepherd. The Facebook live also featured an array of celebrities, with special appearances by Leah Remini, Jenny McCarthy, Donnie Wahlberg, and many more.
“Once again, with even more partners on board, the Dream Center has an army of dedicated soldiers committed to one mission right now: Making sure families across LA have food on the table,” said Dream Center co-founder Matthew Barnett. “I want to thank Sherri and all those planning to attend, in advance, along with every other individual who has helped us keep our neighbors nourished during this crisis. Each of you are beautiful examples of leaders using your influence nationwide to make our world a better place.”
Through this fundraiser with Jesus Daily—the #1 most active faith-based page on Facebook with over 35 million followers—the Dream Center will be able to continue providing basic necessities for residents of LA. For every dollar donated during this unique campaign, one meal will be served to those who need it.
“I am so honored to be hosting alongside Pastor Matthew for this special occasion at the Dream Center,” Sherri Shepherd said recently. “I have seen the good the Dream Center has done in the community, and one thing I can say is the Dream Center doesn’t just talk the talk. They show their love in so many ways and it’s incredible that they’ve already served 500,000 meals! Breakfast, lunch, and dinner every single day. Now that’s walking the talk!”
