TWR360 Reaching a Million a Month

CARY, NC – Transworld Radio is celebrating the fifth anniversary of the introduction of TWR360 this month, the digital extension of the 65-year, global, AM, mediumwave and shortwave radio ministry.

The legacy ministry of TWR has a potential audience of nearly four billion people as it reaches out fluently in more than 230 languages and dialects. But the ministry leadership has also recognized the need to move aggressively toward the digital side of the ministry to leverage the new generation of technology that is defining communication in this new millennium.

The goal of TWR360 is to provide a place for people to find Christ and to grow in their relationship with Him. And it’s proving to be effective and accessible.

A TWR spokesperson explained, “TWR360 is a global, digital platform, multi-language that allows a person to access content via video, audio, or text files in their heart language anytime, anywhere, on any connected device, all on one website.”

Opening the digital platform expands the ministry from audio only to the wider scope of all that is available including videos, movies, and live webcast programming. “enabling anyone, anywhere, at any time, to gain easy efficient access via computer or smartphone to the wide rand of Christian digital resources in his or her own heart language.”

TWR360 features a mobile-friendly website and a mobile app. TWR has invested significant effort and expense to ensure that both the website and the app are both robust and user-friendly. Unlike the fantasy film Field of Dreams, people don’t come to a cyberspace just because you build it. They come because it offers what they want – and it is easy to use.

One of the most user-friendly functions of the TWR360 platform is its language recognition capability. The platform automatically recognizes the host’s default language, eliminating the need for users to select their language from a drop-down menu.

Whilst radio broadcasts are limited by time and location constraints, the TWR360 platform eliminates those constraints with its digital, on-demand content.

TWR360 is currently available in 54 languages and features 600 programs featuring Bible studies, music, and devotional commentaries from 200 ministry partners. The current outreach goal is to add another 46 languages by the end of 2018.

Marketing and Operations Manager David Creech noted that the TWR team has focused on three major points in the development and expansion of the TWR360 ministry:

  1. Every technical refinement possible must be explored so users experience a website and app that is fast and easy to use.
  2. The amount of content must continue to expand and be accessible in multiple languages.
  3. An aggressive commitment to helping ministry partners fulfill their vision and calling in reach the world with biblical content.

TWR360 is asking Christians around the globe to connect, become familiar with the resources available, and share them with those who want to know more about Jesus. They are also opening the door of opportunity for “broadcaster, for churches, for parachurch ministries, and organizations that have good, biblical content, to get their content out to a global audience.
