SOUTH ASIA – Lalita is a widow who was struggling to make ends meet after her husband passed away. Through its Christmas Gift Catalog GFA World (Gospel for Asia) gave her a sewing machine which enabled her to earn a living through tailoring work.
How one simple tool provided income for a family in desperate need. Unable to feed her children, this widow cried out to God. See how her prayer was answered.
When my husband passed away, I lost my only source of income. I didn’t know where to turn or how to earn a living.
The first three years after his death were very difficult! Often my children and I went without food.
I would sell whatever I could to bring in some money. When the annual school tuition for my children came due, I was so worried! Without money how could I possible keep them in school?
When I heard that I was going to receive a sewing machine I was overjoyed! After a couple of months I had enough tailoring work to more than meet my needs. I was so happy!!
My sewing machine was truly a gift from God! I don’t have to worry about paying for my children’s education, about food for my family or about clothes.
Every day people come to me with sewing work.
So, I am very much thankful for this sewing machine and for those who have given it to me. I’m always praying for them! Even in my daily prayers and in church. I’m really thankful for their generous gifts! May God bless each one very richly!
