LES CAYES, HAITI — Samaritan’s Purse is raising an Emergency Field Hospital in Les Cayes, Haiti, to support a local hospital that was badly damaged during the recent earthquake. The 36-bed medical facility will help provide critical care for the many injured in the devastation.
Kaitlyn Lahm, Samaritan’s Purse:
This Chinook helicopter has just landed here in Les Cayes. Right now behind me, they’re offloading supplies. They brought in our emergency field hospital, where we will set up a 36-bed unit to provide critical care, orthopedic surgeries, trauma surgeries.
Samaritan’s Purse would like to thank the US Army SOUTHCOM and USAID for this vast and critical response of bringing our emergency field hospital from Port-au-Prince where our DC-8 cargo plane arrived, out to Les Cayes, which is one of the hardest hit areas. There’s additional need as a result of earthquake injuries, broken bones, trauma.
Samaritan’s Purse is on the ground to bring relief in Jesus’ Name.
