Youth Theology Network Leads the Way in Vocational Discernment Expertise

DECATUR, GA — The Youth Theology Network (YTN) is excited to announce their new website, which demonstrates their passion for, and depth of experience in, vocational discernment. Educating and equipping their 100+ nationwide partners, as well as any organization interested in the subject, YTN underscores the value of helping high school students understand their potential call to ministry. Additionally, the website provides details on what will make each 2021 partner event a special one for students.

Youth Theology Network announced their new website, which demonstrates their passion for, and depth of experience in, vocational discernment. This new resource hub serves individuals and organizations who want to help high school students discern their purpose with regards to entering ministry, even if it is outside the walls of a church. It also connects students with programs across the country that are uniquely designed to help them work through these questions and take their next faithful step. And it highlights stories of impact from the work that has been done so far. Others interested in starting or scaling a vocational discernment program are also welcome to connect with YTN or partners to learn from experienced practitioners.

“The new YTN website represents a central space for new and emerging insights from those who are equipping and accompanying the next generation of Christian leaders,” says Dr. Patrick B. Reyes, Senior Director of Learning Design. “Youth ministers, theological educators and pastors can find inspiring stories, resources and practices for the work that is vital for the future of the church.”

Though YTN itself is a new organization, it is the successful combining of The High School Youth Theology Institutes (HSYTI) and the Lily Youth Theology Network (LYTN). These two initiatives were selected by the Lilly Endowment because they were already leaders in vocational discernment, meaning they allowed high school students the opportunity to think theologically about their future and vocation. Bringing the two together strengthens their expertise and further supports those who are interested in this unique work.
