KOMANDA — Violence is continuing to displace Christians in the Democratic Republic of Congo – but believers have not been forgotten. Thanks to the charity Open Doors displaced Christians in Komanda have received food and other relief aid.

Man:

It’s clear that the displaced people suffer enormously.

In the Democratic Republic of Congo, ADF, an Islamic extremist group, is displacing Christian villagers to form a caliphate. Victims from attacks by ADF have sought refuge in Kamanda, where there is little food or space.

They sleep rough because they sleep in a school. When classes start in the morning, they must pick up their belongings and move outside, even when it rains. We aren’t being supported. So we are happy and we thank God that your organisation has thought of us.

Woman:

it is the war that brought me here. We have received beans, rice, two bars of soup and salt. It will help us a lot.

Woman 2:

We pray that God will bless you abundantly. Because of you, we have rice and beans to eat.

Woman:

I say thank you for the work that your organisation has done through the local church.

Woman:

Please continue to pray for us, as we are short of tarpaulins to build small huts. Small huts for sleeping.
